Probably one important bit I have been able to determine.....

It seems that the maximum time I can hold a single session (say
telnet) is 1 hour from immediately after a previous session drop.

Why 1 hour, I'll be damned if I know, I have looked in the config for
anything being 1 hour, 3600 seconds or anything near to that... nope
cant find anything... help please !!
