Re: (ASCEND) Looking for help

If you have no limitations (Ascend-Data-Filter) then it sounds like routing
table, or/and default gateway on the remote side.

          MY COMPUTER
          192.168.1.5
               |
               ASCEND (local)
          192.168.1.254
               |
               |
               ASCEND (remote)
          192.168.2.253
               |
     -------------------------------------------------
     | |
   COMPUTER COMPUTER
192.168.2.5 192.168.2.6

if you have additional router in your network like CISCO or what ever, you
have probably set your default gateway to the router ip, check the routing
table on this router

command to use
NT workstation: ipfonfig /all
LINUX Workstation: ifconfig

CISCO: sh ip route (depends on the CISCO OS version)

****************************************************

make an tracert (NT) traceroute (UNIX) to find out where the packets stucks
traceroute 192.168.2.5
traceroute 192.168.2.6
traceroute 192.168.2.253
traceroute 192.168.1.254

do the traceroute from the remote side as well
traceroute 192.168.2.253
traceroute 192.168.1.254
traceroute 192.168.1.5

I hope this helps, if not send me an email direct with the printout from
the ipconfig and traceroute

Axel
