RE: (ASCEND) Max4000 problem

To me this sounds like a power supply failure of the 5V rail.  We have 
experienced this a few times with the MAX 4000s particularly after Ascend 
introduced the capability of 56k technology (these cards tend to suck more 
current and overload the PSU).  Tell tale symptoms being that the unit 
boots up fine with no modem cards (sometimes with one card) but any more 
than one card and you will be unable to telnet/ping the box or even get an 
active console window happening ....

What software Version are you using in our Max 4K ? Try to get Ver 6.1.24
.. It is quite stable for us ...
