Hmm. An alternate approach -- much kludgier, but possibly easier to get
working, is to have two configs for the box, one with the profile active,
one with it inactive. Using a cron facility, SNMP, and a TFTP server, it
would be fairly trivial to swap these configs in and out depending on the
time of day.
The advantage to this is that you can have several parameters modified all
at once, depending on your needs.
You should be able to find a sample script that uses SNMP to read/write
configs in the list archives.
