re: (ASCEND) DHCP issue

I use a renewal time of 600 and a maximum no reply of 10 with validate IP
set to yes. With this configuration, I have had no problem with the lease
expiring prematurely and all my Pipe 75s are in the 6.x range.

Perhaps one of you could assist me with a strange issue. I recently
purchased a Pipeline 75 (software rev 6.0.9.) I am using single IP NAT and
DHCP for my home LAN. I am attempting to use the DHCP services of the P75,
but the longest I can make a lease stick is 5 minutes. Client PC's are all
NTW4, SP3 and 5. I have tried several lease timeout settings from zero to
all nines and many in between to no success. I can make leases shorter
than
5 min. Every time the lease expires the release/renew sequence kills any
downloads I have open at that time. Really frustrating. I have no trouble
at all if I assign a static IP to my NIC(s.) I have searched the FAQ's and
Ascends support site to no avail. Any one seen this before?
