Re: [(ASCEND) rebooting 6000]

6000 is a very stable product and it has a much faster
processor/memory than 4000. Email me the complete fatal log
history (enter fat command at debug) which shows the warning
and fatal error code so I can have some idea as to why is
the 6000 rebooting. Does it reboot if there are no users on it?
Make sure that 10/100 ethernet cable is going to an ethernet
switch wich is manually configured for 100 MB Full duplex
or 10 MB Full Duplex. MAX 6000 will crash if the ethernet
switch is set for auto-detect or auto-sense. The LEDs in the
back of the 6000 will tel you if it is doing half/full duplex
and 10/100 Mb/s.

We just got a 6048 - running 7.0.3 - it has a 10/100 card of some kind -
it reboots every 3 to 15 minutes when there are users on it.

I thought I remembered seeing something here about problems with certain
types of 10/100 cards.. Anyone remember that discussion?

I never woulda bought a 6000 because this list makes them sound kinda
flaky - but there are no more 4048's to be had!
