RE: (ASCEND) Shotgun and Max 4048
This is the entry I use in the users file authenticating Shotgun users through Access Control. I don't know if it is 100% correct but it seems to be working OK:
Username Password = "xxx"
Service-Type = Framed,
Framed-Protocol = MPP,
Framed-Compression = Van-Jacobson-TCP-IP,
Framed-IP-Address = 199.44.36.227,
Framed-IP-Netmask = 255.255.255.0,
Ascend-Client-Primary-DNS = 199.44.36.2,
Ascend-Client-Secondary-DNS = 199.44.2.10,
Ascend-Target-Util = 80,
Ascend-History-Weigh-Type = History-Constant,
Ascend-Seconds-Of-History = 90,
Ascend-Add-Seconds = 30,
Ascend-Remove-Seconds = 30,
Ascend-Maximum-Channels = 2,
Ascend-Inc-Channel-Count = 2,
Ascend-Dec-Channel-Count = 2,
Ascend-DBA-Monitor = DBA-Transmit-Recv
As you can see I have to waste an IP address on these users outside of my address pool.

Subject: (ASCEND) Shotgun and Max 4048
I have been working on setting up the shotgun 1.2 on a Win 98 computer to
no avail. Here is what I see...
With the dial-up connection set to use just the #1 modem and additional
modem (on the multilink tab), I can establish the second connection just
fine. Channels bond just fine (or appear to do so).
When I select the shotgun in the Connection, however, I can only establish
the first line connection. When I try to add the second line, Shotgun
reports "Host Refused Add Channel Request".
I am using 6.1.0 Ascend software. Nothing shows up in the call log, nor in
the radius logfile. When I look at the diagnostics screen, it appears that
the Max is sending an ok for adding the line, but I am not sure what it is
supposed to show for a valid answer.
Ascend's site only specifies the configuration for a TNT, and the FAQ and
Archive did not reveal any clues. Any suggestions? TIA for any advice.
