Any somewhat recent firmware should support Stac, MS-Stac and Stac-9
on the Pipe50/75. The first one is a undocumented Ascend proprietary
LZS variant, the latter two are checkmode 4 and 3 according to RFC1974.
Stac is there mainly for reasons of backward compatibility and general
history. It's a good question which method should be used today. I would
say Stac-9 but when we last did a performance comparison, Stac won hands
down over Stac-9. But that was more than a year ago...
