(ASCEND) ANNOUNCE: Small RIPv2 Advertiser
Hi,
you sometimes are getting out of static route entry slots on a P50 ?
You wondered why the hack they have just 3 free slots besides the
default route and would need 6 ? Me too.
In most cases it is sufficient to run a routing protocol between the
boxes who care, RIPv2/Multicast beeing a quite nice one in small to
medium network installations. But there are situations where you just
want to announce some routes which go to a third box (lets say a Linux
machine) and you don't for a hell want to run a full gated on the Unix
box. In this cases, a small program that just announces a set of routes
without much thinking about it would be handy. I didn't find one when
I looked yesterday, and instead of losing hours wading through the net
for a solution I just hacked one. Should run on any decent operating
system, testet so far on Solaris and Linux.

Have fun,
Andre.
