(ASCEND) Problem with Max 2000 and TACACS+ server

Hello All,

I am having problems with getting a Max 2000 (6.1.3) to use a TACACS+
server.

The TACACS+ server is a Cisco TAC-PLUS (3.0.12 alpha) running on free
BSD.

Are there any known incompatibilities?  This Max 2000 has worked fine
with
a previous 'TACACS' server but when the customer migrated to TACACS+ it
no
longer works.  Of course all the Cisco devices using the TACACS+ server
continue to work normally, making this to look like a problem in the
Max.

If this was Radius it would be easy to solve; however with
TACACS/TACACS+
there doesn't seem to be a lot of diagnostic commands to watch for
problems.
