This is not possible under any release. The Max software supports V.34
*OR* K56 modems, never both at once.

If your modems are V.34, I would recommand sticking with 5.0Ap(something)
as it's more stable, unless you need some feature from 6.

If your modems are 56K and you want V.90, you have no choice but to use
6.1.x, and 6.1.7 is about the best I've seen. We have fewer problems
with it than any other 6.1.x release. Some people, though, still have
lots of problems with it.
