RE: (ASCEND) mpp maximum channels?
I have been testing an analog router, WebRamp 300e, for the last few days.
This device allows for up to 3 modems or ISDN terminal adapters to be
multilinked. It includes a 4 port network hub.
Throughput tests came with the following results over about 3 minutes.
1 Modem averaged about 40 Kilobits/sec
2 Modems averaged abotu 78 Kilobits/sec
The connections have been about 31200 and 33600 on the two modems.
I have been very pleased with the performance so far. Curently I have it
configured for address translation between my home lan and the
office/intenet. It does support routing as well... thats next week! I will
have to try with three lines also.
This is the simplest router device I have ever seen to configure. All Web
based configuration.
Let me know if anyone wants further info or test results.

Theoretically yes. No obvious limit other than the number of
modems/channels.
In practice, the buffering involved with almost-inevitable connect rate
differences, could make it quite inefficient and hardly worth the effort.
I'd like to see a client side device that will handle *making* more than
2/3 analog calls and multi-linking them together first....
