Re: (ASCEND) Does Ascend make a TA that supports x.121 packet transfers?
My application is to process credit cards using CompuServ's VPL
transaction service. In their white paper, it describes:
The customer will order an ISDN from their local LEC. When
ordering an ISDN line the following requirements must be met:
1) The ISDN line must support D-channel packet interworking
2) The local ISDN switch must be connected to the PDN
3) The PDN must recognize the CNS DNIC (Data Network Identifier Code)
of 3132 and route to the CNS gateway(s) to the PDN. The full
X.121 address of the transaction gateway is typically
31329999999600
The paper goes on to describe an Omnilink (ADAK) terminal adapter which
supports this feature. I was curious if Ascend makes a product
that can do this too (but it needed to be a TA, not a router because
of my software application).
My software application is ICVERIFY running on an SCO Unix machine.
It communicates with the TA through the computer's serial interface
(obviously). I am still researching what piece of middleware I need to
run from ICVERIFY to the TA. Omnilink made mention of a X.28? PAD
(packet assembler disassembler)? That's where I get lost...
Hope that helps. If anyone has any insight on this I'd greatly
appreciate it!
