(ASCEND) Cisco 1004 to P75 multi-link

For some reason, when ever the Cisco tries to bring up the second channel,
the P75 complains "LAN security violation".  The first channel comes up OK,
and I have max channels set to 2. The OS is version 6.0 on the Pipeline and
11.2 on the 1004.  Does anyone have any tips to getting these two units to
talk multilink PPP ?  Thanks,
