Sorry I forgot some people are offended by the M (Microsoft) word. I sent in a bug fix on their NT 4.0 (SP-3) DNS server a few weeks ago. Their DNS has never worked right. At least they stopped it the data corruption problem with Service Pack 3. I eventually went to a third party DNS server as M-soft still does not have one that works right.
I am a CPA who likes to dabble in computers, thus my ISP business. M-soft may not always work right, but they are big on user friendly, and time is one of my most important commodities. I don't have the time to become a guru in everyone's products. The less I have to know the better I like it.
I have run my MAX boxes almost worry free (knock on wood), but Access Control for NT is not nearly as friendly as a number of less expensive third party solutions. I'm still running 6.1.0 as I have not encountered any customer complaints, and it has been running fine since the first week July when I upgraded.

Hey mate, if think Ascend's software is no good, sell your boxes and
go to NT and try and server your customers :-)
I need software which can work, not promise to work some time in the
future.
I am still using 6.1.3 and no problems (cant see a reason to upgrade
yet).
Could you imagine...
Micro$osft TAOS for Ascend v1.0 will be realeased sometime in the
22nd century. current version v0.00099999b (beta) realease today
fixed TR234567890 thru 500000000 with the exception of 234567891 thru
499999999 which we expect to have fixed by the next beta release in
2098.
