I am using the 5.0Ap51 firmware on my MAX40XX terminal servers.
It is very solid -- many of my terminal servers running that release
have 90+ day uptimes.  Unless you need some feature present in 6.1.7,
it may help to downgrade to 5.0Ap51 until Ascend releases a new
set of firmware.
