(ASCEND) Max200+ Callback
We have been using a Max200+ for two years. The software is
still version 4.6C, although 6.17 (at least) is available.
The reason is that the callback procedure seems to have been
changed in version 5.0A such that IPCP requests are not
answered when the Max calls back. They are answered by
version 4.6C (by newer versions, too, but only when the Max
itself is called, not when it calls back.)
I have been wondering about this in various newsgroups and
mailing-lists since 5.0A came out (some 1.5 years ago.)
My emails to Ascend support failed to locate anyone who
understood the problem or, even, what IPCP is. (I have found
no mention of the IPCP change in Ascend's literature.)
The problem with 4.6C is that it crashes intermittently.
Ascend's literature says 5.0A cures this, so we'd like to
upgrade. However, then we won't have callback.
Can anyone help?
