(ASCEND) converting from single-address NAT to routed subnet on P50
I've got a P50 (Release 6.0.9) currently runing with single-address NAT
to a remote provider. I've gotten them to give me a subnet (/29) from
their class C block, so that I can use static addresses. Everything
works fine when the P50 is in the NAT configuration. However, when I
turn NAT off and change the address on the Pipe to the first available
address on the subnet, I get connected to the remote (Max6000, release
6.1.3), but never get past the authentication. The max just drops the
call, no message in the log file (its a local profile on the MAX, which
works already for NAT), no "LAN security violation" on the P50, no clear
indication of what might be wrong. Other than the route on the Max
(primed via radius, as I dont want to run RIPv2 across the WAN). The
situation looks like this:
Network
xxx.xxx.xxx.0/26 Network
zzz.zzz.zzz.88/29
MAX6K------ISDN--------P50------
xxx.xxx.xxx.11 xxx.xxx.xxx.140/32(WAN)
zzz.zzz.zzz.89
Is there something that needs to be changed on the remote (Max) end to
switch from NAT to a routed subnet ? What did I miss that it is working
with the single-address NAT but not with a routed subnet ?
Thanks in advance.
