(ASCEND) Data LED off on a MAX 4000 series

Does anyone know why the data LED on a MAX would not light up?
I know that it means that when the light is lit up that it's taking calls.
But calls are being taken and customers are routing. Is there something to
worry about or is there a fix for this.

This really has very little to do with the RADIUS server, if I understand
the original question.

They asked:

The obvious answer is "Yes" as long as you are using a version of TAOS
that supports the RADIUS "Filter-Id" attribute, or a RADIUS server that
supports the "Ascend-Data-Filter" attribute. In there cases, you can
define a filter on a per-user basis, that will only affect traffic over
that WAN connection.
