Re: (ASCEND) (Ascend) MAX 4002 BRI Packet Capture?

> How do I do a generic packet capture on a BRI interface?

You can use the Diagnostic "briDisplay" or "wanDisplay" commands.

"briDisplay n" will display the first "n" bytes of BRI messages.
These are just the Q.931 and similar BRI control message. You
can add an additional argument to limit the display to a single
BRI line. "bridisplay 16 1" will display the first 16 characters
for of each BRI message for BRI-1.

You disable the briDisplay using the command "briDisplay 0".

"wanDisplay n" will display the first "n" bytes of all WAN data
packets. This is a generic packet display for all WAN sessions.

You disable the wanDisplay using the command "wanDisplay 0".

There are [at least] two ways to reach the Diagnostic monitor.
Both start from the Main Edit Menu.
The first way is to enter "Esc[Esc=" in less than one second, ignoring
the quotes and where Esc is the escape key.
The second way is to enter "Ctrl-D" followed by "D" to select Diagnostics
from the "DO" menu.

When you reach diagnostics you will see a ">" prompt.

To exit from diagnostics you should enter "quit" followed by a return.
