The System Monitor 
(Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Monitor)
has a number of items that can be tracked in the Dial-up Adapter:
    Alignment Errors
    Buffer Overruns
    Bytes Received/Second
    Bytes Transmitted/Second
    Connection Speed
    CRC Errors
    Frames Received/Second
    Frames Transmitted/Second
    Framing Errors
    Incomplete Frames
    Overrun Errors
    Timeout Errors
    Total Bytes Received
    Total Bytes Transmitted

Dial-Up Networking has been significantly enhanced ...
including multilink support with analogue (k56flex?!) modems, etc.
