I have written a SNMP only + cexample program that appers to work, I was
running it on 5.x maxen and TNTs for a while, I am trying to clean it up a
little bit more(just added syslog support on top of its normal logging) ,
and perhaps if people are interested in it, I will post it (or put it on
the FAQ site..) , currently it will disconnect the user and send email to
a defined address, 'pools' are config'ed from a file like:

# Format is
# <pool name>:<Pool Description>:<Boot Dupes? yes or no>
default:Default Pool:yes

#

Hosts are config'ed like:

# Format is:
# <FQDN or hostname>:<Description>:<SNMP Comm.>:<RADIUS secret>:<RADIUS
PORT>:<pool membership>
ascend01:ascend01:public:radsecret:1700:default
ascend02:ascend02:public:radsecret:1700:default
ascend03:ascend03:public:radsecret:1700:default

I was at first thinking of charging for it, as if I recall there was a
program out there that you had to pay for (I think it was Max Sentry or
something not sure..), but decided now to release it for free, so I am
cleaning it up and making it a bit more configurable and will let it out
into the wild, if anyone has any tips about releasing GPL software please
let me know this is 'my first time'..

I am on vacation now so it will be about 2-3wks (my job does not involve
Ascend and maxen, so I must do it on my 'spare' time when I get back.)

cheers,
