I read that Caller-ID not Called-ID and thus would rather recommend
"Prefer" or eventually "Required". Or does "Called X" include "X" ?
Never heard a clear word on that. The docs say:
Prefer
Authenticate using the CLID if available, otherwise fall back to using PAP or CHAP authentication.
Require
The CLID must be valid and match the value in a configured profile. If the profile also requires
password authentication, do that as well.
Fallback
Authenticate using the CLID when RADIUS is available, otherwise fall back to using password
authentication.
Called Require
The called number must be valid and match the Calling # value in a configured profile. If the profile
also requires password authentication, do that as well.
Called Prefer
Authenticate using the Calling # value in a configured profile if available, otherwise fall back to using
password authentication.
That confuses me. Shouldn' that read "Authenticate using the Called #" ?
IMHO, there should be a mode that first does CLID, if that did not match
tries Called#, and if that did not match falls back to Name/Password auth.
The "Fallback" option makes a nice name for it, and reading the above I
don't see any sense in its current operation ;->
