Re: (ASCEND) v.90
Brett,
If you think that poorly of Ascend, then why stay on this list? I agree
that Ascend has had some code problems and such, but can you tell me that
your phone company has not ever given you fits over your lines or made
mistakes in your service, or that your service to your customers has never
been flaky? Ascend has a lot of users and trying to please everyone at
the same time is difficult...yes, they could do things and test things a
little better, but overall, it is still a good product....my customers
think that they get great performance from my dialup ( I do have a few
that still get phantom connections or frequent disconnects, but that is a
select few)!!!
I beleive Kevin has always be straight with this group and from what I
have seen of the people testing the beta V.90 code postings (or the lack
of what they are saying), I would infer that the code is excellent...I
believe one tester stated that "he could not comment on the beta, but he
would say that he has not gone back to the previously released code if
that told the rest of us anyting"....
Slamming Ascend only causes noise on this group and frankly, I like the
group because it doesn't have a lot of noise, just facts and friendly
help!!! I hope it remains that way!!
