(ASCEND) PPP-Callback with Cisco
Hallo.
We've a customer having a Cisco (1603, I'm not sure). He wants to
use PPP Callback since D-Channel-Callback (or CLID or ...) is
only available with IOS 11.2F or 11.3, both are not really versions
for customers who're not that experienced in Cisco...
Now, on the Ascend site we're sending a CHAP auth to him, everything
works fine, the line keeps up (not fine).
Now Cisco wants to have Callback negotiated on LCP level (RfC 1570),
which the Ascend is not capable of (it seems).
Well, it was said that using "callback-secure" in the dialer would
call back nonetheless (sp?), right after auth is successful. This
the customer tried and it "didn't work" ...
Now does anyone of you have experience with that? On the cisco there's
now a dialer-map class which has a "dialer callback-server username"
in it and the callback-secure is in the interface BRI0 section.
Anything else I can try? Is there (possibly) a RADIUS switch I should
set besides Ascend-Expect-Callback?
TIA,
Alexander
