(ASCEND) Unable to telnet to Max4000

     I have a MAX4000 running 5.0Ap10. Periodically this unit goes into a
state where it will not accept telnet sessions.

When telnetting from a Solaris system I get the following message.

     # telnet ascend-max
     Trying 192.168.154.252...
     Connected to ascend-max
     Escape character is '^]'.
     SetSockOpt: Broken pipe
     Connection closed by foreign host.
     #

Show tcp conn in terminal server gives me the following

     Socket Local Remote State
     0 *.23 *.* LISTEN
     1 192.168.154.252.23 192.168.221.250.15004 FIN-WAIT1
     2 192.168.154.252.23 192.168.155.106.32812 FIN-WAIT1

This happened to me in earlier releases but went away when I stopped
using the Win95 telnet client. The 2 sessions shown above are from a
Soloaris system and a Pipeline 50. The only way I know to get out of
this is to visit the unit and pwr cycle. I wish SNMP sys reset worked
     with this release.

Any ideas on whats going on??

     Thanks
