(ASCEND) Problem with Hayes Accura modem

We have a Hayes Accura 56K+fax external modem (5674US) that would not
connect to our TNT with 2.1.3.  After handshaking, Windows 95 displays the
normal "Verifying Username and Password" dialog, and then it disconnects
with not able to negotiate proper protocal message.  OK, so this modem
might not work with v.90 code, but it connects perfectly everytime into our
MAX 4004 boxes running 6.1.3.  Both the TNT and MAX are using the same
RADIUS to authenticate, so the username/password shold be correct.  In
fact, I could use Hyperterminal to dial into TNT without any problem, just
not with Window 95's DUN using PAP.

I did install the msdun12.exe upgrade from Microsoft and that didn't do
anything.  The DUN upgrade or winsock isn't the cause anyway because I
could connect fine with a USR modem on the same computer.  I would hate to
deploy this TNT and have all the Hayes user call our support line.

Any suggestions??
