(ASCEND) Re: Stopped PPP connections

I've been reporting a similar problem for over 9 months.
Periodically a connection will simply stop passing traffic
though the line remains up. We see that the route has
disappeared from the routing table. Sometimes we can
"update configuration" and restore it, but it usually
requires a reboot, a dangerous step for a Max 1800 (since
it almost never syncs the BRI's again without manual
intervention, another trouble ticket we've had open for
as long a time).

Ascend has been unable to fix these problems, though their
usual solution is to try a newer software load in the hopes
that something happened accidentally to clear a problem up.

Our solution is to replace all of our Ascend boxes with
Cisco.
