RE: (ASCEND) T1 PRI pinouts
Wow, what service. Just what I needed. Thanks!
I think that Pac Bell used pin 3...(RC45) I'll recheck it on Monday.

Subject: Re: (ASCEND) T1 PRI pinouts
All T-1's use two pairs: 1-2 and 4-5. 1-2 are Transmit and 4-5 are
receive. It doesn't matter if which if cross the pairs (2-1 instead of
1-2, 5-4 instead of 4-5), but you won't have any luck if you cross beteen
the pairs (1-4, 2-5). Anyways, here's a summary:
T-1:
1&2 are Tx
4&5 are Rx
BTW, here are some other common pinouts:
10bT, 100bTX:
1&2 are Tx
3&6 are Rx
DDS (56k):
1&2 are Tx
7&8 are Rx
The pins on the plug are numbered left to right if you hold the plug with
the tab on the top and pins pointing down. A jack would be right to left
if you look at the front of it with the slot for the tab at the top and
the pins accross the bottom:
Plug (front view, cord goes away from you):
___
________| |_______

-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
Socket (front view, where the plug is inserted):
___

______/ \______

-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-
8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1
Hope that helps.
