(ASCEND) Pipeline/Bridging/DHCP
I am currently configuring a Pipeline 85 for bridging. It's connecting to
an Ascend Max 4004. Right now it's bridging IP, IPX and Appletalk. I had
everything working just fine with static IP addresses assigned on the
client side. As soon as I configured the client and Pipeline to use DHCP I
started having problems. First, I had to enable a Static Route on the
Pipeline in order for the line to come up (I have it setup to have the ISDN
line come up on IP traffic only). Once I did that, my ISDN line would not
come down. Before I went to using DHCP, my line would come up and down
using the proper filters just fine. I also had a static default gateway on
my client of my router at the other end of the ISDN link. Now (using DHCP)
my default gateway on my client is the IP address of the Pipeline. Should
I be changing my default bridge address now? Why would a static route keep
the ISDN line up?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
