(ASCEND) Perm link problems
Hello All,
I'm having problems setting up a permanent link on a max4000 and believe the
problem to be related to a cisco however some cisco people have told me it's
to do with the way I have setup the profile on the max.
This is just a perm modem dialup.
The problem is that after they have connected they can ping the Max and our
2 cisco routers *and* anything external to our network but cannot ping any
other machine local in our network - which is kinda essential for dns and
proxy etc...
The Max is on 203.2.239.12 - It's default gateway is 203.2.239.5
The perm modem has been assigned 203.2.239.69/32 on the max profile.
On the Cisco I have entered
ip route 203.2.239.69 255.255.255.255 203.2.239.12
On the 2nd Cisco I have entered the same (it is at 203.2.239.1 and is the
default gateway for most of the unix boxes)
Doing a traceroute externally reaches 203.2.239.69 fine - can't do a
traceroute internally as it's one hop away and can't tell anything useful.
Any clues? I'm extremely puzzled :-)
thanks
