Re: (ASCEND) Unable to Route
I am rapidly running out of answers and I hope that someone might have the
answer. The nationwide ISP I work for has about 20 MAX's that are used
strictly for ISDN and dedicated customer use only. They are great and run
fine. The boxes are running 5.0 and Ap42 and stacking is enabled. The
problems seem to crop up after about 40 days of uptime, any customers that
are grabbing 2 channels(128k) start having the problems routing with the
second channel. The only way to resolve this issue is to have a scheduled
maintenance reboot of the equipment. Thanks in advance.
Hi,
We've been seeing the same problem crop up our stacked
machines. Could you give me some more information about
the way you've got stacking configured?
- How many boxes are in a stack group
- Are they both running 5.0Ap42
- How many PRI's have you got connected
to the boxes, and how high is the utilisation
- What kind of routing have you got configured
on the boxes
We're seeing the following things:
- The problem only starts after the a MPP call
drops the second connection on an other MAX
then the one originally dialed in to
Sometimes this will work fine, adn take 2 or 3
times for the call to halt
- Data is still being transmitted over the link
in both directions
- The remote option still works
- All routing information is as it should be
(Both using RIPv2 in send only mode, and OSPF)
We're running our maxes with more than the avarage amount of
PRI's, and just two boxes per stack group. We're getting a very
high percentage of ISDN calls.
With version 5.0Ap51 we got the problem after about 3 days of
uptime. I downgraded all stacked maxen to 5.0Ap46 last week, and
haven't heard about any new problems.
We're only seeing the problem on boxes that are running in a
stack group. All other maxen are running without any major
problems.
Anyone else out there with the same problem?
