While connection problems have always been more common with our Ascend Max TNT server than our USR servers, the problem became even worse with the new K56 modem cards. (But to be fair, some customers who previously had problem had them suddenly disappear.) I don't think Ascend has any errors in the V.42 but it is very finicky about how other modems implemented it. --Tony ---------- > From: Spencer, Greg <GSpencer@wcagper1.telstra.com.au> > To: TurboNet Announce <Tony@turbonet.com> > Subject: RE: (ASCEND) USR Courier "Dual Standard" with K56 Max > Date: Thursday, September 18, 1997 9:28 PM > > Does this turn off V42 compression? > > > ---------- > > From: TurboNet Announce[SMTP:Tony@turbonet.com] > > Sent: Friday, 19 September 1997 1:59 > > To: ascend-users@bungi.com > > Subject: Re: (ASCEND) USR Courier "Dual Standard" with K56 Max > > > > I've also found that adding S48=0 cures this and other initial > > connection > > problems on many 14,400's.
