RE: (ASCEND) Accounting program??

If you have access to an SNMP product you can do dumps from your various
ascend products to ASCII files. In a poor man's attempt at this I have
used a copy of Castle Rock's SNMPc ($795.00) to get information from
several tables on the MAX units. SNMPc let me save these as ASCII
files that I then used as linked tables in Microsoft Access 97. Once I
predefined the reports I could just hit print in my Access applet and
get a detailed account of the number of users on-line, number of
channels, speed, and time of each connection. This was not a real time
process due to the manual need to save the ASCII file from the SNMPc
each time, but as I understand it they have a good API and this could be
automated.
