(ASCEND) Preventing multiple logins

OK, I just put in a feature request. I know this has been discussed here
to some degree, but I think I have a solution if we can get a feature
added.

We see a problem with users being able to have more than one login session
with the same user ID, even though we have set Shared Profiles = NO in our
MAXen. As long as they don't hit the same MAX, they can get in as many
times as they want - or they and their neighbors or friends can all use
the same flat-rate account. We consider this to be a Bad Thing. There's
really no way to "fix" this with RADIUS; everything we've looked at is
either kludgy or unsafe or both.

We also sell a "family plan", which allows up to five email boxes... but
oly ONE login at a time is allowed. We got that covered by using the
"User-Name" entry in the RADIUS users file (thanks, whoever suggested it -
it works!). Same thing, though, now it's just limited to one user *per
MAX*.

So... why doesn't the Stacking feature allow the Shared Profiles setting
to span the entire stack of n MAXen? As long as the MAX is asking the
stack about MP bundling - why not ask if any of the stack members have the
user name logged in already?

Anyone got a better idea? Other than "Don't sell flat rate"? We all have
to face our own harsh little realities, and cheap flat rate service is one
of them here.
