RE: (ASCEND) Pipeline 75 Questions
Now we have something to work with...
first... what is the ip address of the access server on the ISP's side? The
one you are dialing into.
second... make sure that under Ethernet--Static Routes--Default-- the
gateway is set to the ip address of the ISP's access server...
third... if the address is right for the gateway... and you still can't
ping out... then go to the term serv, and type show ip route, the first
line of that routing table should be 0.0.0.0/0 <ip address of the isp>. if
it is not, then it needs to be set to the ip address of the isp...
iproute add 0.0.0.0/0 <ip address of isp>
or if the 0.0.0.0 is pointed to the wrong address, remove it first. then
add the correct one...
iproute delete 0.0.0.0/0 <whatever ip is there>
lets just say that all that is correct(which i doubt it is)
if it is... try pinging the access server of your isp, if you get a
response from that, and dont get a response from the dns server... then the
problem is probably going to be on the isp's side. With the way they have
your routing set up...
Also, what kind of block of address's were assigned to you from the ISP? If
you dont know that, then how many address's did they give you?
or did they give you a block of address's?
