What I do is setup a directory (folder if you prefer ;) with the manuals in it
and then add the latest release notes for each product. Since there are
tools with Adobe's Acrobat reader that allows you to search a collection of
docs, I can search on the set rather than just a specific book or PDF file.

NOTE - I do not offer this as a fix for everyone, but it's a workaround.

An online searchable HTML version of the docs is another step in the right
direction - I'm told real-soon-now.
