(ASCEND) 56K disconnects

I got some 56K modems in the field that function fine on V.36 connections
but if they connect at 44/46K they run for a few minutes then disconnect.

I'm not really sure where to start with the problem. My first inclination
would be to update the code release, but I thought that I would ask first.

Any info on 56K disconnects would be great.
