(ASCEND) 56K burp tone. (V.8bis)

All,

We seem to have several customers that can't connect with their
14.4 modems because of this 56K v.8bis tone. With most of them a simple,
yet shouldn't be needed, addition of two commas (,,) after the dial string
seems to remedy the problem. We now have a 28.8 customer with a *VERY*
generic modem, windows 95 modem diagnostics revealed nothing usefull, that
seems to now think that the tone is a busy signal and disconnect adding
two commas has been of no use. WE are running a MAX 4048 with 5.0Ap16.

Any help or advice would be helpfull.

Paul.
