Re: (ASCEND) Ascend Pipeline 50 Q.

I don't believe this is a "Windows/Microsoft" problem
as someone else sugested, as I've never seen this
with hundreds of Windows systems connected through dozens of P50s,
and as a traceroute below shows through one of my P50s from Win95.

What is the IP address of your workstation?
IP addr of the ethernet of the pipeline? (try to traceroute to this)
IP addr of the NAS you dial into? (try to traceroute to this also)
What type of call (IP routed/bridged)?
Are you using NAT?

you can check what address you appear to be at 
using this web page:
        http://zeus.lyceum.com/cgi-bin/showmyip

if this address shown on the web page is not
the same at what you have on your workstation,
there's a NAT going on that prevents the traceroute
from doing what you'd expect it to.

We also have some other tools at this site
that will let you traceroute back to yourself 
FROM our server to check what that route looks like.
