What? You mean you think we should throw highly processed
compressed dead trees that have been bleached, then painted
with toxic chemicals at a vendor of equipment whose sole
function is to eliminate the need for such things? You want
us to ask a number of government employees to burn fossil
fuels to transport these dead trees across the countryside?

This will get more attention? Well, so would a brick through
a window, but both seem more than a tad gauche.

Say it ain't so, Ascend! Tell us that the executive committee
at least gets a summary report of the "market intelligence"
gleaned from this mailing list. Tell us that the VP of Engineering
has someone reading each and every message.

Now you want us to burn fossil fuels to ship OURSELVES across
the country, and then ALSO send the compressed dead tress?
Aw, come on - if we really wanted to catch Ascend's attention,
there would be a march from ISPcon to Ascend's corporate
headquarters. (What's your best 5 km time?)

The vendor that ignores the customer (especially the leading-edge,
lunatic fringe, rabid critics of even the slightest faux pas like
many of us on this list) does so at their own peril.

Rather than "carpe diem", on the Internet, once is wise to "carpe PM"
