Re: (ASCEND) Dedicated T1 Serial Wan profile



We have used this successfully, between a M4k and a Bay - it worked just
fine.  From memory there were no special tricks required on the MAX side
(apart from using PPP encapsulation, but that was for compatibility with the 
Bay - anyway you are getting the link up (as in "LAN session up"?) so 
that must be ok). 

You aren't using 4.6B s/w by any chance?  That's the one that escaped 
with the dreaded idle timer zero=zero bug - after zero seconds of 
idleness it dropped the PPP link, roughly the symptoms you describe.
