Thanks. I did previously search dejanews and found quite a few
references to NAT. What I'm having trouble with is the "single address
NAT" functionality as compared with the "NAT for LAN" functionality.
The 5.0Ai16 release notes (page 62) describe the ability to "perform NAT
for multiple hosts on the local network after getting a single IP
address from the remote network during PPP negotiation. Any number of
hosts on the local network can make any number of simultaneous
connections to hosts on the remote network, ..." This is what I want!
As I understand things, this is different from "NAT for LAN". Doesn't
NAT for LAN borrow an IP address from the remote network for each host
on the local network?
To cite a very specific example, on page 64 of the 5.0Ai16 release
notes, it refers to a new entry on the Ethernet menu, i.e.
20-000 Ethernet
20-100 Connections
.
.
.
20-A00 NAT <<-----
20-B00 Mod Config
The release notes go on to describe a number of parameters in the NAT
submenu and how the single address NAT functionality works.
When I connect to my P75, NAT doesn't even appear on the Ethernet
submenu. What am I missing?
