(ASCEND) OR-U to PM25 stac help needed

I have an OR-U by Livingston and am testing the new STAC LHZ compression
of the LZH. I have a p25 with 4.5.20p firmware on it. It DOES have
compression. I even opened it and found the STAC board in it. But it does
NOT seem to be doing STAC. 

Do I need to upgrade to a later firmware? And if I do, will I still get
unlimited routing capabilities as this is a 25 classic? Or will I turn it
into a 4 address only fx unit?
