I've enjoyed SUSE since 6.1. The comments from others about YAST doing
the serious work for the user are certainly true. I was impressed with
the Debian distribution "Raspbian."

But recently I've been getting a 6 DVD set of opensuse from OSDISC.com
or something like that. I copy a local repository of the discs and can
learn what is out there. Unbelievable amount of software on 6 DVDs.

Most of my time used to be spent digging in /usr/include files and the
like. Amazing to learn how things like "semaphores" or serial port modem
control lines, or other linux systems work. It really is all there. The
libC reference is great, too. Or X. Many, many new advances made my
skills obsolete. If I was 30, 40, + years younger! As the saying goes,
"youth is wasted on the young."
