I think Max is right about this being the sort of issue we should be keeping an eye on. I'm not clear at all on what this bill would require. The bill is requiring that their be some mechanism whereby the phone can be shut off somehow, not just as a cell phone, but also as a WiFi device. I don't even understand how that would work. I do understand the goal - to make stole phones worthless, which sounds like a good idea. It might save lives (as the article says - people have been killed for their cell phones). Mike
