Actually, I reinstalled, updated/upgraded, then chose the nvidia again. Got something of the same error (two broken files?), but it seemed to go on into Unity without a hitch. Rebooting didn't give me the errors.

When I ran into this issue (I have 4 monitors on 2 graphics cards) there was a lot of work to getting things working again. You have not details much so I can't really share my odessey. The sharing is up to you.
