So to start with I agree with the original poster's view on bloat of Ubuntu and the suck of Unity (although useful on my touchpad). I think the length and subject are perfect for a mailing list. We have had much longer flame war messages in the past (occupy what?). I think what could have been said was that it was such a good piece of writing that it could go up on a blog. I see this mailing list as a good place to post things Linux related that someone was thinking about posting to a blog so they could get some feedback, good, bad, or flamealicious.
