First exposure: 1998-99 school year with Red Hat 5.0 (I think, bought it
off the shelf at Circuit City).
Built my first server: April, 2002. (Red Hat 6)
Switched to FreeBSD in July, 2002, after a rootkit hack.
Been running FreeBSD servers ever since, but only as service machines;
never for desktops or workstations.

I've been hosting websites either locally through DSL and Cable or
remotely through farms since April, 2002. Supposedly I know enough to be
a support specialist (according to people I've worked with) but I don't
think so. :) Although it would be nice to get out of development double
time.
