Doh!!!!  I almost asked if you had ever messed around with SAMBA and then
stopped using it, as I was thinking that might have left something in a
config file that triggered a timeout.   My wife loves it when this happens,
as she enjoys telling me "you were almost right!" ;-) ;-)
